Hi everybody,
I got my Zaurus last Thursday as a present ... First was scared because I had no experience with Linux.
But now after some research and some equipment shopping at Bestbuy I am sitting in my bed and have fun with my C3100 and the wifi card ...
I installed cacko 1.23 and now I like my Zaurus even more ...
But I have a questions:
I tryed to install x/qt jumbo package to get some more apps but while installing it errored and said it needs other packages to install successful ... I exit ass/remove software and i see the x/qt ... there are a few icons but when i click on them it says this program is not installed ... What do i have to do ?
How and with what program can i watch other video formats ?
Whats the best way to configure my own style or get other style preconfigured?
Are there programs that can help me with that?
Are there programs to search for wireless networks and access them ?
Is there a guide about terminal ... the commands and what I can do with them ?
Hope someone can answer some questions ...

Even though I'm a noob as well, I can sort of help you :-) The jumbo package only gives you the icons - think of these as the links on your PC. You can download the packages you want and install them - the pdaxrom.org section has them, but I recommend browsing here because several people have made all-in-one packages so you don't have to hunt around for dependencies.
If you don't want to isntall the packages, you can remove the icons. It's under tab settings in your settings tab. (strange but true ) Select the X/QT tab, select the app's icon, click on the trash bin.
How and with what program can i watch other video formats ?
Kino2 supports quite a few; have you tried that? It's in your Cacko rom.

Are you referring to Qtopia (the standard view with those tabs and such) or X/QT's blackbox? (where you get the mouse pointer)
If it's the first, there's an Appearance program in the Settings tab. Allows you to change some colors, wallpaper, but nothing really fancy.
If you mean X/QT's blackbox, you can do that by right clicking. (Hold FN on keyboard, tap screen) Halfway down there's a link with Styles. There you can select your color scheme. I don't think you can set a wallpaper, and I'm not adventurous enough to fiddle with Fluxbox.
Just play around with it. It's really fun to discover all the cool linux aspects :-)

not sure if you need auto mounter....maybee you really dont need it but its worth to ask.
automounter works good for me since i don't own a 3100, not sure how it will behave. ask meanie.

Thanks works great so far ... and installed much faster than with the ipk.jumbo.package
i'm downloading some more apps now and figure everything out
