Hello,
I have SL-5600. I download
zImage_Sharp5600-ROMv1.00_Preemptive-Wireless-Ext-No-PXA250-Workaround.bin (and renamed it to xImage.bin) and updater.sh from Sharp website and using instractions from Sharp I install it without any problems.
But when I go to System tab/Info I still read that this is ROM v1.21.
Any ideas what\'s wrong?
Thanks

Is the preemptive rom based on the v1.21 sharp rom? if so the version number would not change

Thanks for the answer!
Anyway, would be better to install first Sharp\'s lates ROM (v1.32) and than preemptive ROM, or
it makes no sence?
TIA

I guess you updated kernel and still your rom is sharp rom.

I upgraded to 1.32 before applying the preemptive ROM. Note: If you synch with Outlook, 1.32 requires that you upgrade the PC software too because there are changes to the Synch procedures.
To tell if the preemptive patch was applied use the command cat /proc/version
You should see, mixed in with the version numbers, the text (colin@paravel) which indicates that you got the stuff from Tumnus.
By the way, I\'m assuming that you had a typing mistake with the initial post because the file should have been renamed to z[/color]Image.bin.

Thanks, Tehas!
Yes, I misstype it, it was zImage.bin. I also upgraded to 1.32 and than to applied preemptive patch.
Yes, I can see (colin@paravel) but System tab/Info still shows ROM v1.21.
Hmm...

Just in case somebody wants to know why...
I just didn\'t include mversion.bin. It\'s OK now...
