Title: Neccesary To Charge Av500 While Transferring Data?

I know the manual and website say that you should always plug the archos in while transfering data.  I believe this is so the device doesn't shut down due to low battery in the middle of a transfer.  Other than this concern, is there any reason it really HAS to be plugged in?

It only HAS to be plugged in during flash upgrades.
