I just started using OZ-GPE, it seem to be the best mix of hardware support and the type of applications I'm looking for but I'm running into some problems. Are there any fixes for these issues? Should I file bug reports somewhere?
- Key mappings are messed up (esc closes terminal window which makes vi unusable, Can't stop a ping because Fn-C doesn't do a ctrl-C)
- Virtual keyboard sticks in an 'a' sometimes when pressing a shift key
- Keys and Buttons Setup shows picture for iPaq
- Keyboard Layout should default to US, not GB or should be a selection just like Timezone during install
- Setting the time and/or timezone causes the wrong time to be set sometimes (bug or bad interface design?)
- Clock panel set to 12-hour doesn't mantain correct width when logging out and back in
- Clock panel set to analog is either too small to see or doesn't display anything(can't tell which)
- /media/card/etc/default/bluetooth should have HIDD=false
- When removing the Help panel, it's icon(in the remove list) is messed up
- Menus should be alphabetized
- The circle keypad should rotate when the screen does
- With File Open Dialog boxes there should be some type of visual feedback that you clicked a directory (it flashes or is outlined...)
- When viewing the Netowrk Setup, and the virtual keyboard is on, the arrow to cycle through all the tabs is hidden
- System Info->Hardware doesn't display the right picture
- Going to Look and Feel->Theme and checking Enable Visual Effects hangs the system
- Network Setup->WiFi device->Configure, WiFi configuration dialog box gets cut off along the right hand side
- There should be an option to turn the screen clicking on and off(it's always off)
- Dillo2 menu icons are too large to all fit on screen
- Going to Settings->PC/CF Cards and ejecting a card doesn't do anything
- ntpdate doesn't function. Gives error "setsockopt() IPV6_V6ONLY failed: Protocol not available"
- Clock panel->Set Time->Get time from network fails. Possibly related to previous bug
- My collie freezes during a reboot and sometimes requires a reflash to get going. In GPE I open up a console, su to root, type /sbin/reboot. All the shut down scripts execute as expected. Many times when the system should reset my screen turns white and hangs. I have to press the hard reset button to get it back but sometimes that doesn't work. When the reset button doesn't work, reflashing with the OZ initrd.bin and zImage doesn't work either. I have to reflash with a Sharp Ospack and then flash with OZ.
The really big issue for me is number 1, issue 22 is pretty severe too. Additionally it seems like several of the known bugs from the previous release are still around, https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=11751&st=75 (https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=11751&st=75)
Edit: Added 2 more bugs
Edit: Added another 2

Sure, you should probably check existing bugs and report if none has noticed these before in the reight bug trackers. See [a href=\"http://openzaurus.org/wordpress/2005/12/01/use-bugtrackers/]http://openzaurus.org/wordpress/2005/12/01/use-bugtrackers/ for more details.

Is openembedded.org still a working site? I haven't been able to hit their site for a couple of days now. Their DNS server seem to be MIA.

bugs.treke.net seems to be an alternate way to reach the bugs.openembedded.org tracker. Also, if you're interested in building some apps with OE, you can find info on that at oe.handhelds.org.

GPE bugs whould go into GPE bugtracker: http://handhelds.org/bugzilla/ (http://handhelds.org/bugzilla/)
And you also use old release - register to OZ 3.5.4 testing (http://openzaurus.org/wordpress/2006/01/09/openzaurus-354-release-plans/) so you will get newer stuff to test. I will rather remove 3.5.4-rc as it is a bit old now..

hrw, might be worth removing the rc images (or possibly moving and marking as old, so that they can still be downloaded if people really want them) and in their place put an html page asking people to register on oz.org and get the newer images from you.

So I did http://ewi546.ewi.utwente.nl/mirror/www.op...table/3.5.4-RC/ (http://ewi546.ewi.utwente.nl/mirror/www.openzaurus.org/official/unstable/3.5.4-RC/) is now info page but old images are available still.

Since the relationship between all the software projects is a little hard too understand at first, what is the best way to determine where the bug should be reported? Since I'm running GPE is everything graphical a GPE app? I know all the gpe-packagename.ipk stuff would be but what about the other X11 packages? Also what about things like gpe-mini-browser installed from [a href=\"http://ewi546.ewi.utwente.nl/sfeed/]http://ewi546.ewi.utwente.nl/sfeed/, how can I tell if the app is an unmodified version that should have bug reports filled?

Of your bugs, the following are probably OE related: 1,4,8,20,22.
The remainder appear to be directly linked to GPE apps.
