Hello everyone.
I am in the Philippines and last night I plugged my wall adapter in to charge my Zaurus 3000. Around 5 minutes later, I noticed the charging light was off. So I checked the adapter and it was almost too hot to touch. I unplugged it. Now it will not charge the Z.
Is there some place I can buy just the adapter? I'd actually like to buy two. I checked Trisoft but I could not find the adapter unit for sale there...anywhere else?
Thanks,
Poet

Hi Poet,

Have you checked the accessories list:
http://www.trisoft.de/en_zzubehr.htm (http://www.trisoft.de/en_zzubehr.htm)
But shipping one or two adapters to the Philippines will
be not a cheap thing.

The most readily available is the Sony PSP power supply, and/or those Dell Axim/HP IPAQ's.
More here[0]. Do note that power adapters with adjustable voltage out runs hot so stay
away from them. On the office I charge using the USB->PSP Power cable on a powered hub
and use the original zaurus at home.
Thanks,

Yes I checked the accessories at Trisoft...but I would like to get the original replacement...again...I don't see it there.
As for the list of places in the Philippines...I will check them when I get into manila from diving in P.G. They are certainly a lot cheaper than 49 Euros.
Thanks everyone for your fast replies.

What a wonderful country! I took my burned out power cord to a small electronics store in Puerto Galera one day when not diving. I explained I wanted to buy a power supply or adapter to do the same thing. They took the other one from me...I assumed it would be to take the power plug to make sure it would fit. About 15 minutes later, the guy comes back and has the power cord head open and three new parts soldered in (capacitor, diode and a regulator I think). Asked for my computer, and plugged it in....it worked!
So now I figure...this guy just spend 15 minutes parts and labour to repair what in north america would be a throwaway part. I'm going to get dinged high for this!
Grand total parts and labour and the cost of an adapter to go from 220 to 110 volts...under 10 dollars!!!
I could have screamed. Wow...this truly is the land of smiles! All's well that ends well.
Nw if I could just find a university position to move here, I'd be a real happy camper.
