Title: Mapping Application buttons?
Post by: CoreyC on February 16, 2004, 03:48:31 am
Please excuse my ignorance...

Is there a way to map my application buttons to a character? (I have a sl-5600)

like:

calendar button = 1
contact button = 2

Would it be as easy as creating a bash script that just names a charachter and setting that  script as the default app for a button?

I hardly ever use the face buttons, but if I could map them to charcters they would be useful for other apps (MaxMame )

Has anybody tried this, or is this beyond the limits of my Zaurus?

They\'re already mapped:
http://www.zaurususergroup.com/modules.php...x&pagename=Keys (http://www.zaurususergroup.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=phpWiki&file=index&pagename=Keys)

Although I don\'t know if SDL maps them the same.

Doesn\'t the 5600 have a built in app for assigning apps to the screen buttons?
The 760 does on the settings tab - sorry can\'t remember the name and my zaurus is off getting repaired.

It\'s something pretty obvious but...

I think Corey is talking about mapping the application buttons to keycodes, like F1, F2, etc, for use in games.
