I've got a large .avi file on my microdrive at the moment which plays fine under Cacko/ kino2. I've tried holding down the right cursor key to fast forward through the video when it is playing but that caused the Z to crash after a few seconds. On the PC mplayer you can push 'G' to bring up a GUI and then drag a scrollbar but it looks like this feature isn't on the Z mplayer.
If I want to start a film 30mins or so into it have I got to run mplayer from the command line (whats the best command) or can I do this under kino2?
Also, how do get kino2/mplayer to display its current position in a movie ('time')?

"" to display its current position in a movie ('time')?""
I think that if you press "o", then the on screen display starts with the time played. Press it a second time and a second set of time related numerals display..........dunno what they show, but I only looked for 2 seconds at the display then.

..........oh, and another: pressing "v" goes forwards in time 10 mins, press "c" and go forwards in time 1 minute.
There's a whole bunch of similar commands under File>>preferences>>controls.
When my Kino2 baulks at going forwards in 10 second increments, it will advance by 1 or 10 minutes just fine!!
