Title: Unstable Feed
Post by: merli on February 11, 2006, 10:02:49 am
Hello

Every package I download from www.pdaxrom.org/unstable is corrupted (I cannot extract it). Is there any problem with it?
I used zaurus.spy.org/feeds instead but now is closed. Can anyone have copied unstable pdaxrom feed?

thnx

What do you mean to say by "I cannot extract it"?  How are you downloading them?

i had the same problem when selecting "IPK Feed" beneath "Downloads", what you need to do: click "downloads" and select your model in the main window, click "feed" or "additional feed" there

regards

I had a similar problem and realized I had to left click on "download file" and then when the new page came up I could right click on the link to the actual file and save it. By right clicking and trying to save what "download file" points to I was saving the PHP webpage.

EDIT:
I think I'm thinking you're problem is something else. Sorry.
Doesn't this URL work?:
www.pdaxrom.org/unstable

I once had similar problems that were caused by double or not compressed files - I can't precisely remember which way. Anyway, I solved the problem by running all files through gzip (or was it gunzip?) -- after renaming them of course. Maybe your situation is similar.

BTW I don't think you have to rename the files before processing them with tar. Only gzip requires certain suffixes. BTW2: All of these hassles can be avoided by using the atool utilities, which figure out how the files are compressed and how to uncompress them.

I found that problem with downloaded files is only in Winblowz in Total Commander. Maybe version of TC I have does not handle some gziped files uncorrectly. When I download file through Linux it is OK.

Hmm?  what do you mean closed?

my system has been running pretty solid for 2 years -- this week it became unresponsive twice.  Once was for two days, the second was for about 4 hours... it's been running fine since Saturday.

You can always email me directly at scottyelich@gmail.com  (bypasses spy) to contact me.

ps: the box is renewed through November.  Unless the hardware dies, or some lame crackers get in and destroy the place -- it's not going anywhere.

I think he means:

In the latter event, Dyson has an excellent (non-technical) fix.

ok, strange.. I couldn't find anything amiss -- so I restarted apache and
now the page is back.  dern gremlins.

as far as that article... well, again, /msg me in irc so the history won't
be archived here.  :-)
