Title: Network Connection Quickly Closing

Hey,

I'm using an AmbiCom CF WLAN card to connect to an open network. The problem is that in a few seconds, before I manage to open any network application, the connection wizard says it doesn't find any connections and when I press OK it takes the interface down. If I'm quick enough, I am able to ping/ssh somewhere and get a connection. Does anyone have an idea where can I extend/cancel this check for connections?
(Edit: Oddly enough, if I connect from the Settings -> Network panel, there is no problem)
