Post by: telemetric_au on February 28, 2006, 10:37:20 pm
i cna get both these for about the same price... the 6000l is portrait orientated with smaller keyboard, and the c700 is clam-shell with larger keyboard...

can people please recomend which one to go for and why ...

eg whats the cons and pros, which one would be better for installing debian or alternate os ??

well, it really depends what you want your Zaurus for. And why are you comparing the 6000 to the most outdated clamshell model? Compare it to the latest model, the C3100 and maybe you will change your mind about it. And for those who think the C3100 is bulky and heavy, you probably haven't held an OQO in your hand before. Now THAT is heavy and it's hot too, as in it burns your hands.

both the 700 and 6000 are crippled concerning flash user space.  Unless portability was your priority, the 6000 is the better choice.  You get a bigger screen, usb host and more rugged design.  The 700 does have accessories out of the ying yang because there are so many 760/860 and 750s out there.

well the 6000 and c700 are available for around the same price... ($300 au) while the c3100 is around $700 though im sure its worth more than twice the amount of either of the cheaper ones im not into spending that much cash on a model just yet ...

a 700 or a 6000? the 6k has so much more to offer... better proc, usb, nicer screen, wifi,  I can't imagine you'd seriously compare the 2. It's like comparing a nicely painted little econo-hatchback to a tricked out jeep.  The 6k will simply do more for you.

If you can get 6000 at 300 AU then you should be buying all that they have and putting them on eBay or offering them on here. They are worth much more than that.

I got £280 for mine on eBay about a month ago and that is pretty average.
