I found billiardz_0.1.3_arm.ipk at the Sharp website, but it caused the screen to lockup.
I had to remove the battery on one occasion. I checked & unchecked Display with magnified screen.
running as root, it fails to write to a directory that has been fixed in the 0.1.4 version.
I noticed billiardz_0.1.4_arm.ipk on ELSI and killfiz, but the page that it's located on is gone.
Does anyone have this?
I've been trying it on a C3100
Googling for billiardz_0.1.4_arm.ipk, just takes me to old forums or dead links.
Thank you,
Jon

if you found it why dont you just post it here? I'd like to have it as well.
-
It has a depends that I don't know of.
GUI installer says something like this:
This program has a depends that must be installed first.
-
execute it in the terminal and post the depenend file here
-
libSDL_image-1.2.so.0: cannot load shared object file: No such file or directory.
BTW I already have libsdl_1.2.5-bvdd-07-2_arm.ipk installed, and when I tried to install libsdl_1.2.5-slzaurus20041025-j_arm.ipk, the installer says to uninstall old version first.
but I thought the bvdd version is for the newer version of mediaplayer/kino2
-
you need to install libSDL_image
-
Where do I find that?
there are many versions according to google and are on Japanese sites.
Descriptions only, without links to the file.
-
okay....i sent you the pm with the image file
use terminal and report any other findings...post if it works...then ill release the files.
-
Ok, I made a mistake renaming the file. I used an underscore instead of a dash.
It installed libSDL-image_arm.ipk
Now when I launch billiardz, it's looking for another missing library.
libstdc++.so.5
-
ill have to figure out the libstdc tomorrow. I have finals at school.
-
Thanks a lot.
Do you think this will run on a C3100 with Cacko 1.23?

Sorry, but every link on that page is dead.....
Not even the screenshots work. The ipk and tarball links are also dead.
-
That's funny, they work for me! Using Opera 8.5 on my XandrOS LInux box, they come right up.

I'm using firefox on a winxp home box.
How do you keep from getting the 404 pages??
the links at the top work, but nothing related to billiardz works.
-
If you go to the main page, there is a place to create an account
http://www.chipx86.com/wiki/Main_Page (http://www.chipx86.com/wiki/Main_Page)
Zaurus isn't mentioned there, just Nokia phones
I'll try and create an account, then see if the links from that billiardz page work.
Now I know what went wrong. The page needs javascript enabled. I have it disabled for all pages until, I decide it's needed. It prevents viruses.
EDIT: the links to the billiardz files are still missing. (page has been moved or removed)
-
try this one
-
Thank you. I'm rebooting, as I uninstalled the image lib and billiardz_0.1.4_r0
-
yeah sometimes im with my girlfriend at the movies waiting to see a movie and then she asks for the pool game on the sl-5500. when i updated to the c1000, i never had an ipk...pissed me off.
-
It still needs the libSDL_image-arm.ipk, re-installing it now.
-
It's working, but it's very small.
Tried to get a screenshot, but screenshot only took picture of palmtop.
Checked Display with magnified screen. It just hangs up.
-
hold icon down for pop up window and use magnify
backup before you do this.
-
I tried that and it hangs up
EDIT: The cancel button backs me out though, so I don't need to reboot or restart qtopia
-
Got it running in small screen.
I wonder what the controls are.
Taking a shot, moving cue, ect, ect...
Spacebar makes the shot.
Use stylus to move que position.
Left/right curser - moves cue position.
up/down curser, increase/decrease strength of shot.
Still need to figure out more controls...
It isn't quite as easy to use as the Palm version (BilliardsV42)
-
runs off the stylys....
use fn plus minus or the magnify thingy to magnify the image.
-
fn plus and fn minus doesn't work.
I figured out how to exit the game. Use cancel button on keyboard.
It's running full screen, Qtopia taskbar isn't showing.
It runs like a very small movie with a large black border.

I tested it here, works fine. IPK downloads with no problem.

Ken, I had javascript disabled, it works now.
Sorry for the mixup.

How is it possible to disable javascript on the Zaurus? Could give me short instructions how to enable or disable it?
Thanks,
climber

I was using firefox on a winXP box. I don't have the internet connected to my Zaurus.
EDIT: I decided to remove billiardz from my C3100. I don't have enough knowledge to
enable it to work in 640x480. It's way too small as it runs now. I have a pool playing game
on my Palm Zire 72 that works very well, with sound effects, applause, ect.
Anyone who is looking for the 1.4 version of billiardz can download it from page 2 of this post.
It also has a depends. I'll post it below.
Depends (rename to libSDL-image_arm.ipk before installing.)

Just feedback on the packages on a C860 under Sharp ROM v1.40
D/L'd
billiardz_0.1.4_arm.ipk ( 226.79k )
and
libSDL_image_1.2.3_1_arm.ipk ( 16.68k )
from this thread.
Both installed to main memory without problems. When billiardz ran, the screen was in portrait mode but the table was rotated 90 degrees CCW (compared to v1.3) with portions off screen.
Unchecking the "magnified" box gave a display hashed at the top & locked the C860 hard. Needed to pull the battery & reboot to regain functions.
Is there a "help" or cheat sheet for the operation of the game (since it appears to be different from v1.3)?
This is the first time that I have gotten billiardz v1.4 to even run at all on the C860 so THANKS!!
-
Will have to correct my message above & add some details.
You need to rename
libSDL_image_1.2.3_1_arm.ipk
to
libSDL-image_1.2.3_1_arm.ipk
before installation will work.
After reboot, billiardz v1.4 on C860 failed to run. Console error message said it was due to a missing library file.
Realized that I had Meanie's XQt Jumbo cramfs mounted & live before the reboot. Reinitialized XQt Jumbo & billiardz v1.4 once again ran OK.
Appearance & functions same as in above message.
However, playing the 2 versions shows that v1.3 & v1.4 work essentially the same (I didn't know about the keyboard controls in v1.3 & only used stylus) except for the rotation of the table in v1.4 as above.
Fn + or - do not do anything on C860 display. Qtopia task bar shows under v1.4 rather than running "full screen" like v1.3 does.
Otherwise I haven't found any differences between v1.3 & v1.4 so far.

i couldnt get 1.4 to run so here's 1.2

et viola zaurus.spy.org comes to the rescue: [a href=\"http://zaurus.spy.org/feeds/docs-zaurus-com/billiardz_0.1.2_arm.ipk]http://zaurus.spy.org/feeds/docs-zaurus-co...z_0.1.2_arm.ipk[/url]
yes it's 0.1.2, but it's better than nothing.
-
it needs this version. the same version that i will be including with the gngeo which makes it work
http://www.gnurou.org/software/zaurus/feed....5cvs-1_arm.ipk (http://www.gnurou.org/software/zaurus/feed/libSDL-image_1.2.5cvs-1_arm.ipk)
and any billiards version will do. i have 1.4
make sure you have libsdl's installed. if your running my combo emulators, just install this libsdl image version and you will be fine.
keep magnify ticked or you will be sorry!
