"looks nice, but can it run linux"

Basically anything with a intel pxa processor will run linux, most without even doing anything to the kernel

2 QVGA displays are not equal to 1 VGA display. This is a step backwards.

As for a camera - what for? And again, why 2?

No, this is not my dream device.

2 cameras, for videoconferencing: the camera on the outside is used for shooting pictures; the camera in the inside, for taking pictures of yourself while doing the videoconf. and you are looking the other partner in the screen.

Certainly, I'd rather prefer one vga screen and another more modest display, even low-power lcd for info/mail status/... while the lid is closed.

I won't buy it neither (I'm more fan of the universal htc), but another partner to keep an eye on !!

Running just the kernel probably wasn't what he was talking about. Most likely he was wanting Linux-based environment with nice features, like a GUI, ability to turn off the device, etc. which aren't as easy, particularly if this PDA might not have its hardware fully documented.

so close to perfect... yes, they should upgrade on display to proper VGA (or even use Nokia's N770 one), they could drop one camera. the keyboard looks a bit grid-like.

it doesn't say USB host, but it's implied by "usb printing".

I'd rather have a CF than an SD slot, for the flexibility, but I imagine that the electronics are pretty jammed in, so I would guess that dictated the memory card format.

If it had VGA, it'd be on my wishlist!

VGA screens + buttons on the side to control media player & sound recording (with protection to avoid mistakes like on Psion S5mx case) + jog dlal for easy brothing and sound volume control.

And why not... an open specification to be able to port Linux easily (phone part...).

2 vga , as has been said, doesn't cut it.

I was thinking the other day (gasp)  that something slighty bigger than a z  (maybe an inch in width and height, as thin as possible) runing a dual arm proc. / 2700 video setup with an 800x600 screen, 256 or more ram, a 1.8" 40 gig hd and a serioulsuy  biiiig -- battery (w/ bt and wifi internal , af course).  would be more the thing.--clamshell , of course.

Id' be happier with this, in combo with my little nokia casket phone, than with a an intregrated setup. If it were possible to integrate a phone and add a bt headset + remote that would be cool too.

I agree about the 640x480 however i was looking at this as more of a portable office where when you get to work you plug it in to its charger and plug a PC screen into it and a keyboard and use it mainly or mail and calls

what got me mainly was the insane amount of flash and RAM, i just hope they ship with that as you need 4 to 8 RAM chips to get that much with a pxa processor and that takes up a huge amount of space

the video card would be nice, bieng able to plug into a monitor and have Xgl on it using the openGL ES exstensions or using it to watch moives and play MP3's
