Title: Cacko 1.23, Wellenreiter, C3100
Post by: xamindar on March 09, 2006, 01:42:16 pm
Back on the JP sharp rom I could get wellenreiter working by creating an adhoc connection, enabling it, and then opening wellenreiter and it would scan.

But on the cacko rom when I enable the adhoc connection the LED on my wireless card just blinks forever and wellenreiter still says it can't open the interface.  On the JP rom the LED would blink a little and then go solid.

Has anyone gotten wellenreiter to work?

Hi,

I had the opposite problems. Would not work on the Sharp ROM, but works most of the time on Cacko 1.23.

I just installed wellenreiter from the cacko feed, using the commandline 'ipkg install wellenreiter'. It installed the  dependancies as usual, and I did NOT create an Ad-Hoc connection.

Now, provided I remove my Netgear MA701 then re-insert it before starting Wellenreiter, it usually works (~7/10 of the time)

I do find quite often with all WLAN connections is that if I disconnect, then close the lid. When I power up again, I have the remove/re-insert the Netgear card before any WLAN connection will work.

Maybe some of the more code literate guys can help on this one...

Cheers,

Alistair

The problem is that some CF cards behave properly and if the command cardctrl resume 0 is issued, the card resumes, but some cards don't. For those troublesome cards, you can do a cardctrl eject 0; cardctrl insert 0. Put it in a script under /etc/apm.d/resume.d

Well what do ya know!  The one from the cacko feed works like alijames said.   I was using the one that was in the zaurususergroup.org download section.

it only starts from console though?  no icon?

my problem with wellenreiter: it starts up fine, asks me if i want to kill the dhcp client, i say yes, then i press scan and it scans... and finds nothing!

heelp, this is the third wifi scanner ive tried, none seem to work (kismet, discoverer).

btw, card is dlink dcf660w and zaurus model is C760

I'm using the Wellenreiter II package from the CAcko feed; I created a network connection named Wellenreiter, specified ESSID as any on an Ad-Hoc network,TCP/IP set to IP address 1.1.1.1 , Subnet mask 255.255.255.0 , Gateway 1.1.1.0 ; DNS on autodetect. It works just great.

I start that network connection, and then start Wellenreiter. You have to start that connection first. Tried that?

thanks for your answer, noticed it only now

i got it to work since then, didn't need this network connection though. (i'll experiment later, just to see what it is like  )
