So, for about 2 months now I have successfully used my own, home made protectors with a sl-c1000. I went to the local Hardware store and bought 1/2 a yard of 36 inch wide clear plastic sheeting. It comes in various thicknesses, I got the thickest made....it's still only about 0.5mm thick. There is no adhesive side to it.
A trip to Staples later and I had cut the sheet into the correct size for the screen, plus 2mm on the height, minus 1mm on the width, using the roller cutters they seem to have around the copy area. These get dead square edges, and are very accurate.
So, clean your screen(microfiber cloth and sunglass or eyeglasses cleaner) and the protector. Slide the protector up under the top edge of the screen bezel, then down into the bottom bezel, then align it to the left edge of the screen. It stays put, despite no adhesive due to lack of air between the surfaces and "electrical" attraction, gets no dust underneath, and lasts a hell of a long time. Very clear too, with no added reflection.......and did I mention they are cheap??? I have a lifetimes supply of them now.
Only drawback I have experienced: don't use the palmtop in a steamy bathroom. Somehow moisture gets between the surfaces and builds up. You don't really see it when using the Zaurus, but it's quite noticeable when the screen is off.
