I'll receive my first Zaurus in a couple of days, a C3100. I'm a poweruser when it comes to regual computers and have a good knowledge of linux in general, but this will be the first time I even have a PDA.
So now I'm thinking of stacking upp with the stuff I might need, bluetooth card, wifi-card and so on..
When it comes to memory, i have a couple of Sandisk 1GB SD memories which i think will come handy. But What i want to know is;
Do I need to buy CF memory cards to be able to flash new ROM's and stuff, or will i be able to do all the flash mumbo jumbo i might possible need with my SD-cards?
It would be sweeter if i didn't have to buy memory cards since i already have SD-cards available =)

Cxx00 Zaurii can be flashed from a vfat formatted SD card.

I believe that the only way to do a NAND backup is using a CF card bigger than ~160 meg. Please correct me if I am wrong on this point.

nope, you can do nand backup/restore to either SD and CF. Assuming your flash is not 100% full, it even fits on a 128MB CF/SD although you will need a bigger one if your flash is close to full. 256MB cards are ideal for nand backups and restores.

Hi Meanie,

small correction:
The NAND backup/restore operations don't care about what's used
or free. NAND operations are stupid, but that's what make them so
easy. So every NAND backup will always be 132 MB for an SL-C3100.
The size of the "normal" backup depends on the installed applications.
Conclusion: You'll need a >=256 MB card for NAND operations.

You're correct. I forgot that I gzip the file afterwards
