Title: Matchbox Update
Post by: omro on March 13, 2006, 01:54:36 pm
Hi guys,

Just saw this link about an update to matchbox. Is this useful to anyone?

Matchbox WM 1.0 (http://projects.o-hand.com/matchbox/?p=12)

Once again the window manager we use is not Matchbox - Matchbox WM is 100% intended for single fullscreen windows - PDA style.

Yes, it is a little confusing.  You will notice an openbox process, that is the window
manager by default.  But pieces of the "matchbox project" are used for the panel,
and the panel applets in the panel.

Also, just a heads up, there is a lot of out-of-date information lingering around, even
in the pdaXrom FAQ.  For instance pdaXrom's most useful feature for me, is the
(gcc based) development environment, yet the FAQ states:

Q:
How do I setup gcc compiler on Zaurus?

A:
At this moment, a native compiler is unavailable for pdaXrom

Yes, I know!  I was just making a point.  If someone new started looking at
the FAQ->Developers section first, they would be misinformed.
