How do I prevent my Firefox browser from re-downloading all the images on your page every time I go there?
The Customs page takes about 20 minutes to completely download on a 56k dialup.
I have increased my cache to 512MB in Firefox. (That's ½ gigabyte).
That's the largest cache that I've ever enabled in an internet browser.
I have previously saved all your pages to my hard drive, so I can read them offline.
I also have downloaded the *.pdf version.
I check your pages every now and then to look for updates.
This is when I have to wait for all the images to re-download.
I can disable images, but I thought once they were downloaded, you wouldn't need to download them again.
I use Firefox 1.0.7 on windows xp
Thank you,
Jon

you're probably not caching the page. there is an option in firefox to force refresh each time you visit a page, which seems what your browser is currently set at.

Thank you Meanie,
I don't see an option in the regular options from the menu to select/deselect
"refresh each time you visit a page"
Internet explorer has this in it's settings.
I did a "about:config" and put "cache" in the search bar.
I'm not sure if the above setting is in there either.
I've enclosed a screenshot of about:config with "cache" as the search.
The entries in Bold are entries that can be set in the menu "Tools > Options"
Thank you,
Jon
