Excerpt from an article on umpcorigami.com:


"The most remarkable thing that we discovered was that the engineers were using Linux on the device to test it out before Microsoft sends them a copy of the actual operating system that will run when it ships. The distrobution, which remains unknown to us proudly displays Tux on a touch sensitive screen at a minimum resolution of 800 x 480. Due to the small size, it won't feature a physical keyboard, but a virtual keyboard. The programmers working nearby told us that since they did not have the actual Microsoft OS on it; they had to "hack up" a lightweight Linux application to do the job of the virtual keyboard."

Does anyone know whether they have signed contracts with Billy to make the device M$ only? If yes, this is the new iPaq, if no this is the new Z.

- Looks great, except no keyboard.  If I wanted my Z to stay at home, or carry around an USB keyboard everywhere I go, I'd just bring the laptop.  (grin)  It also looks just a touch large for my taste ... not nearly as convenient to tote 24x7 like the Z.
- Nice article, though.  Thanks for pointing it out.
- I see that I'm not intelligent, however.  (sniffle)  I couldn't read the Japanese!

those are not japanese characters, korean..   hehe.. but i don't understand any of them either
