Hi, I am using the Stock Sharp Rom, Qtopia. I am kinda lost. I have been dowloading several ver, but no luck so far . Even if they were installed, I couldn't find files like doc, pdb, etc.... So, my question is:
What Opie Reader ver should I download?
And,
Where should I install the book files at?
Thanks for your time .
PS. I also REALLY need this to use it as a portable bible. I miss mybible reader...

This version (http://www.timwentford.uklinux.net/opie-reader_0.7j_arm.ipk) is for Sharp ROMs.
You can put your books anywhere you want, then use the "File/Open" menu item to open a file requestor which lets you navigate to anyhwere you want.
If you've tried severl versions you may have messed up your settings. I've added an attachment which is a small ipk which enables you to clear out all the ope-reader temporary files. Install it, run it once (at least) then you can uninstall. The next install of opie-reader should then be clean.

Hi,
Thanks for everything. With very few quirks, It's working GREAT now. I esp like that it recognizes PDB files--which I have alots of. The Opie cleaner, does what it's supposed too!
Tks again

Hi,
I was wondering if you could explain how the opie reader cleaner works and what files it
cleans.
thanks

It's a shell script that will only remove any old opie-reader .conf or .desktop files from a previous opie-reader installation.

Hey thanks. I would have thought when a programs is uninstalled it would have removed those files as well.
thanks

In most cases that would be true. However, Tim made that for users that have tried to install the ‘wrong version’ for the Rom (distro) they were using, causing the ipkg installation to fail... sometimes leaving temporary files.
