Title: Scintilla Text Editor For Cacko Rom V1.23?
Post by: dati on March 29, 2006, 07:44:01 pm
Hello,

I am trying to find "Scintilla Text Editor" to run on Cacko ROM v1.23 (does it exists for Cacko ROM?) pdaXrom come default with this editor.

I use this editor on Windows as well.

I know that there is an editor name Visiscript, but I don't like it. very slow

I've download scite_1.56_armv5tel.ipk, but it doesn't recognise by "Add/Remove Software" Installer.

is there a GTK+ for Cacko ROM?

Thanks in Advance.
Regards Dat.

Scintilla is an editor widget framework... the above project uses it.

Practially speaking what most people expect is SciTE which is the 'demo' project for Scintilla that implements a fully functional editor - this 'demo' project has become a very useful editing tool and a lot of folk (including me) use it as a real editor.

The above project is quite close in some ways to SciTE but runs on Qtopia.

If you want real SciTE and gtk also then you will need to run an X server at the moment. You may want to look at some of the efforts involving X/QT.

Thank your Andy,

I'll give this SimpleEdit program a try.
