Hello,
I've just bought a 2GB SD and assume that it was working, when I insert into SD slot the system hang/very slow for 1 minute after that it is back to normal.
When I go to the Konsole and type
mount, I get:
/dev/root on / type jffs2 (ro)
/proc on /proc type proc (rw)
/dev/ram1 on /dev type minix (rw)
/dev/loop0 on /usr type squashfs (ro)
/dev/mtdblock3 on /home type jffs2 (rw,noatime)
none on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw)
none on /dev/pts type devpts (rw)
/dev/hda1 on /usr/mnt.rom/cf type vfat (rw,noatime)
I've tried:
fdisk /dev/mmcda
You will not be able to write the partition table.
Unable to read /dev/mmcda
Does this mean that Cacko Rom v1.23 does not support 2GB SD? or am I doing something wrong.
I should have check before I went out and buy the 2GB which I found a lot of user reported that it is not working.
my Zaurus is SLC-760
I've tried:
mount /dev/mmcda /mnt/card
mount: permission denied. Are you root?
I don't know how to login as root.
Thanks in advance.
Regards Dat.

2GB and up is supported only for Cxxxx (C1000 - C32000) models so far.
Read this:
https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=18523 (https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=18523)
To login as root, type su <Enter> in the console

Hope you don't mind me crosslinking your post to the above one I mentioned.
There is someone with a C760 inquiring about 2GB and up cards there also.

I tried installing this driver on my 860 running cacko1.23... but it doesn't work :-(
I have a 4GB card I bought for the wife's Ixus (works perfectly - 1500 pix at full res top quality or 33 mins VGA FMV!), and if I can get it to work with Zaurus I will get a 2nd one.
So any ideas? I did a manual install as I wanted to be able to easily remove it.
---
copied the kernel modules to the required place:
bash-3.00# pwd
/lib/modules/2.4.18-rmk7-pxa3-embedix/kernel/drivers/sdcard
bash-3.00# ls -la
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 0 Apr 25 11:57 .
drwxr-xr-x 13 root root 0 Apr 25 11:56 ..
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 27016 Oct 15 2004 sd_core.o
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 14354 Oct 15 2004 sd_linux.o
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 8198 Oct 15 2004 sd_memory.o
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 11017 Oct 15 2004 sd_pxahci.o
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 282473 Oct 15 2004 sdlink.o
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 8755 Oct 15 2004 sdmmc_linux.o
then I rebooted and modules.conf got updated.
then to remove old driver I killed sdmgr:
# ps -ef | grep sdmgr
...
# kill nnn
removed old driver:
# rmmod sharp_mmcsd_m
then tried to install the new one but it segfaulted :-(
# modprobe sdmmc_linux
Note: /etc/modules.conf is more recent than /lib/modules/2.4.18-rmk7-pxa3-embedix/modules.dep
Segmentation fault
and the module is thus hung:
# lsmod
Module Size Used by
sdmmc_linux 12720 1 (initializing)

is there actually real support for 2GB?
last time i tried i had to send back my card after 3 days of trying....
back then the driver would just go haywire on anything above 1GB
i wanted to buy a Transcend Secure Digital 4 Go
i have a c1000
and what does: "software to sd may need to be installed from terminal" mean?
(if it just means manually installing ipk's i guess it's fine)
can anyone really confirm cacko 1.23+Transcend Secure Digital 4 Go works?

For C1000 try this thread:
https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=18523 (https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=18523)
I have a Sandick 2GB card and it works with the driver posted there on my C3100
