Hello

Here's the roadmap - I will fix the bug on the existing Qtopia based guylhem rom, then resume working on a brand new release, which is started from scratch.

It will use GPE, which is a good thing because it's blazing fast, X based ie pdaxrom-like, and using gtk/c, which means I can have an easy time coding the required  missing software :-)

The goal is to recreate a functionnal equivalent of the existing guylhem rom; but starting from scratch, using always the latests version whenever possible while maintaining binary compatibility (ie I'll pick up the latest versions now, so you won't have to upgrade for a while)

There will be a SDK, which won't be as big as OE existing "SDK" which is a complete copy of the base.

The 6000 will of course be one of the supported platforms - because I have one :-) But the real interest is commercial support of easily available handhelds : no need to fork out 600 Eur to get a Zaurus when a <300 Eur pocketpc will do it.

I will also try to get a sony librié as soon as it is released in the us, because it could be interesting hardware.

If you like the project, you can purchase some of our N30 bundled with a linux dual boot SD. It is not running the new distribution, which will be available as a software upgrade when it is ready, but it is an excellent hardware - the best companion of the 6000L, due to its small size and featuring bluetooth.

OE isn't an SDK. However, it can create one which is ~30 MB in size only contains the needed binaries to build and link stuff.

shame the N30 is only QVGA... even the Palm 320x480 hires screen would be a good compromise.

Yeah.. there is an acer N300 that is vga. Maybe it will see support as well, as the "high" end of the standard issue stuff??
If you read this Guylhem, a comment would be appreciated

Adf,

Try the n30 screen first, and you'll see. It's just gorgeous, qvga maybe but as bright (or brighter) than a 6000, and also readable outdoors.

Munch better than one could except- closer to a 6000 screen than to a 5500

I might, though I already have a 6000 and a 3100, and might risk antagonizing the wife if I keep buying theses things.  I was thinking more along the lines of acer apparently having a decent product for a decent price, and guessing that if a vga was desired the 300 might be an easy port.  More along the lines of (hopefully) an easy creation of an upscale line for your business.
