A while back Iamasmith posted an interesting link: Zaurus Ad (http://bedoper.com/reptilian/archive9.htm)
I would like to spoof that image with pictures of you guys and use that as the header for tyrannozaurus for a while.
I'll promise the following:
-I won't use your picture for anything other than this and will delete it when I'm done.
-I promise it will be tasteful (as tasteful as a picture of you with a dino on your back can be)
-I won't link images of people with their names.
-I will be in the picture, joining in on the sillyness.
Please send me a side profile picture of yourself standing, and holding your Zaurus sometime over the next week to this address: montanaq at gmail period com
Thanks for humouring me and have a good weekend.

Just as a bit of trivia, that Zaurus ad is several years old and was for the pre-Linux Zauruses. I remember seeing it when I lived in Japan.

Cool.
From browsing around I noticed too, that the earlier models didn't seem to run Linux. Does anyone know what they ran? Proprietary, Sharp, ROM based OS?

Yes, I had a number of the pre-Linux Zauruses. They ran a completely proprietary OS developed by Sharp (in fact as I recall, each model ran a different version of the OS made just for that model). It was actually pretty good in some ways (the PIM software, for example, was much better), but there was very little in the way of third-party programs. And of course, it was only available in Japanese, with no possibility of conversion to English.

No one sent me any pictures, but that's OK. I may have to sneak some celeb photos.
