I have a SC-C3200 and I am going to install OZ 3.5.4.1beta1. But before doing this I would like to know the exact steps to go back to Sharp ROM. If someone can make it clear, I'll put this info on the wiki. Note: I have dug (dig, dug?) around in the forums and did not find a clear answer to these questions.
So let's make it crystal clear:
- Installing OZ 3.5.4.1 with Kernel 2.6 does not require NAND re-partionning (right?), nor NAND flashing (not sure here)
- But you need to re-partition the hard drive (right?). This is done by the installer (not sure...).
If you want to go back to Sharp ROM:
- How do you repatition the hard drive (does a full reset re-partitions automatically?)
- ...
Thanks for the help.

I did, but those informations seems to apply to OpenZaurus kernel 2.4 installs and not kernel 2.6 where you have to repartition the hard drive.
Also I have read some contradictory informations about "bricking" a C3100/C3200 Zaurus: in the guide you refer to it is written (page 30):
Attention :
It is possible to delete the Flash ROM of the Zaurus completely in the service menu
(NAND FLASH FULL ERASE). Also for the SL-C3000 / 3100 you’re able to format the
harddisk. The Zaurus would be transformed into a noble paperweight, without any
function, if this was done. The warranty would become invalid and the device would
possibly be a total loss.
while I have read in several post that it was IMPOSSIBLE to "brick" a C3100/C3200 because it had a non erasable ROM from which you could restore the system.
I know the C3100/C3200 with Sharp ROM would complain if it cannot find /dev/hdd1 and /dev/hdd2 which should contain some special files (backup found on trisoft.de I believe, I did my own backup on my C3200 as some files differ). So how can these be restored if returning to Sharp ROM? Is a full reset (after a NAND restore) enough?
Anyone can confirm, explain, ... ?
