Title: C1000 / C3100 Compatibility
Post by: daniel3000 on April 24, 2006, 11:15:49 am
Hello,

can I restore a backup made using the built-in backup utility of the C3100 on a C1000?
Technically it should be no problem, as AFAIK the flash layout of both Zs are the same and nothing of the 3100's HDD is backed up.
But can it be done without problems (model checking mechanism... whatever)?

I plan to buy a C1000 as a backup for my new C3100. But first I'll have to make sure I can really use it as a backup.

All personal data is on an SD card, only dictionaries and Multimedia stuff is on the HDD, which would not be needed in case I have to fire up the backup machine.
(And soon I'll put that all on a 4GB SD card, so actually I could switch entirely to the C1000 platform ;-)

Thanks!
daniel
