thats cool

i ran \"ipkg upgrade\"  after rebooting into the console .. and everything looked small + i couldn\'t make use of the Z since it didn\'t take any input (touchscreen or keyboard not working).

so i just reflashed with the 3.3.6pre1. better luck next time :-p

Said feed is for the SL-5500/SL5000 and won\'t work at all for other models. I\'ll tell the packager either to put a warning into or move it under a subdirectory named SL-5500+SL5000.

Hi!

Mickeyl: You\'re right, it isn\'t noticeable... :

Guest: You have to add the feed to the ipkg configuration, then ipkg update will update the package list (their info, as version, deps, etc...), then you run ipkg upgrade to upgrade the packages. Opiemail3 needs libopiedb2 to be installed, as said in other thread, since there is an error in its dependencies list, as said by alwin:

Quote
Please install libopiedb2 - we did forget append the deps for that librarie.
Means: due technical reasons opie-mail requires libopiepim2 and libopiedb2 (thats why we can not release it for opie 103 anymore) but than opiemail from unstable feed should work.

Anybody running into the problem where opie-aqpkg_1.1.1-20040223 from the above mentioned feed won\'t start?  I\'m running 3.3.6-pre1 on an SL5500.  I did a \"ipkg upgrade\" and all appears well except for aqpkg.  Launching as
Code: [Select]
/opt/QtPalmtop/bin/aqpkgresults in the following message:
Code: [Select]
QuickLauncher invoked as: aqpkg

Could not create application main window
Any new dependencies for aqpkg perhaps?

(yes yes...  I realize its \"unstable\"

Yes, I ran into the same issue.  I have pretty much received the same problem with every other package in the newly updated unstable feed (2/24), even though I have installed the updated dependencies.  The packages in that feed before the post recent update seemed to work fine.  Perhaps there is something we are all missing, or maybe there might be a compatibility issue somewhere.  I can only speculate, as I have no direct involvement.

Guest: Install aqpkg from opie 1.0.3 - it worked with previous release of opie 1.1/gcc3 (tried during last weekend).

Now I\'m using OZ 3.3.5 with opie 1.0.3.

Yup, thats what I ended up doing...  I also had to drop back to the 1.0.3 version of opie-embeddedkonsole as the newer version would hang.  Bleeding edge is exciting though!   8)

Is is possible to have OZ 3.3.5 with opie 1.0.3 in / and 1.1 on CF card?

Last time when I was trying to upgrade 1.0.3 into 1.1 it takes more then hour (about 2-3MiB free on / is not enough for jffs2 I think) and finally failed (I flashed 3.3.5 again then).

Or maybe I should remove opie 1.0.3 from / and install opie 1.1 it to CF card?

In case anybody is interested, the Opie 1.1.1 feed was updated today (27th) and the aqpkg problem has been resolved.  embeddedkonsole still is having difficulty though.   :?

Still, it looks and runs fantastic for the most part.  Kudos to the Opie folks!

Don\'t suppose someone could point me to the Opie 1.1.1 feed?

OK guys so i am really struggling with this.

From a fresh install of 3.3.6 pre1, i download and transfer to my CF card various libs from this feed.First thing is to remove hotplug and install the 3.2 stable feed version. So far so good......

Next i see that several packages are identifed in Aqpkg as having upgrades available. If i try to upgrade via AqPkg or from the command line, it reports that no new version is available and leaves the current version.

Also, if i try and install a new lib from the feed, again either via Aqpkg or command line, i get an error saying it cannot find the package. The Z sees them as i can copy to other locations, so the files really does exist.

Do i need to downgrade ipkg to say the 3.2 stable?

Any other ideas

many thanks

I wouldn\'t bother upgrading to 1.1.1 anyway. There are so many things in flux you\'ll probably render your GUI unworkable. Wait at least until 1.1.2

I finally \"ipkg upgrade\" OZ 3.3.5 from opie 1.0.2 to 1.1.1 from \"unstable-gcc2/\" feed (I took three hours). But now I got:

Code: [Select]
# qpe

qpe: error while loading shared libraries: libgcc_s.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

What is wrong? I don\'t want to go to OZ 3.3.6-pre1

Update: installing libgcc1 from OZ 3.3.6-pre1 helps

Many packages contains CVS directories (mainly in opt/QtPalmtop/pics/ subdirs). They are not needed and take space (5500 has only 16MiB flash
