Title: Supported Wlan Card
Post by: wrc4 on May 14, 2006, 10:20:29 am
I'm using a "Zcomax XI-325H 200mW" on SL7500C(C750) with pdaXrom and it works well. The card is recognized once plugged-in, and the connection is established within a few seconds.

However, I have another CF typeI WLAN card with the following texts on it:
"CF-B-AG-01-USI"
"FCC ID: IXMCF-B-AG-01"
"Made in Taiwan"

When I plugged it in my Zaurus, the Power LED on the card never flashes and the card is not recognized.

BTW, The card came with a Windows Driver and a Windows CE 3.0 driver.

Is it possible to use this card on my Zaurus?

Hard to tell without info which card it is. Show 'cardctl ident' output so it can be checked.

Many cards comes with many different names/brands for one card.

Here is the output of 'cardctl ident':

Socket 0:
product info: "Wireless", "CF NIC CFBAG", "", ""
  manfid: 0x0156, 0x0003
  function: 6 (network)
Socket 1:
 no product info available

It should be one of the Agere Hermes II cards. Do a keyword search on this site should give you some direction.

I think currently Cacko is the only zaurus ROM that supports it.

What should I do if I WANT to ADD support to this card? Does it involve modifying Linux kernel? What knowlege and materials do I need in order to do this?

I'm a Linux Newbie but have SOME programming experience. So I'd like to have a try, if possible.
