Title: Oz Opie-volumeapplet Issues

I can't!  Using the mixer applet and/or the volume control in opie-mediaplayer doesn't change the volume in my Akita, and it seems to be constantly pegged at maximum.  How do I fix this?  Note: volume control worked fine in OZ/GPE and pdaXrom.
