Hello,
I have a sl c3100 with cacko 1.23 running smoothly on it. I bought a Planex gw-cf11x for wireless networking, and I have some problems setting up:
the card is obviously recognized by the ROM when plugged in ("New card...")
when pressed connect in the Network Panel, the card sometimes starts to blink (when I am lucky, say one chance out of 10), but the result is allways the same: "Network offline", even if the zaurus is actually sitting on the computer.
If anyone of you has some experience with this card, help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much

Search the forum for "wifi-net" its a script I use in pdaXrom and works perfect! (Include firmware)

Thanks very much for the tip, but my search of the forum yielded nothing with name wi-fi net (save for one of your previous post on the pdaXrom beta 3 release). I suppose I did not performed the right search.
And by the way, does this script only works with pdaXrom? For I would prefer sticking with cacko (which behaves slightly more like a pda than pdaXrom). I have nonetheless Meanie's super jumbo pdaXQtrom running, which is absolutely great.
I am sorry for not finding the file.
Thanks anyway

Rename to wifi_net.rar !!

Hello,
Thanks for the file. I tried to run the script (both normal and su), on cacko (I know, it is not exactly supposed to work, but who knows...) and pdaXqtrom. Basically the same response from the card, but still this Network Offline when I tried to connect to my network... sad.
Here is the response from the script, if it shows anything:

Post dmesg && iwconfig plz

Well, I have the same card, also running on Cacop 1.23 on a C3100.
It basically works well, only one problem:
The only works on the first attempt to establish a connection.
If I disconnect and want to reconnect, it doesn't do it. I have to eject and reinsert the card.
Maybe it's related to your problem?
Anyone have a solution for that problem?
Thanks
daniel

I have a solution for that problem.
in /etc/pcmcia/network.opts
Change CARDSUSPEND=y to CARDSUSPEND=n
That should fix it so when you disconnect you don't have to eject and insert your card before reconnecting.
Also, if you want to be able to suspend the device with the network on and have the network automatically reconnect on resume, try this:
Create a file called /etc/apm.d/wlan0 and make it executable. Put the following test in it,
#!/bin/sh
PATH=$PATH:/usr/bin
case "$1" in
suspend)
cardctl suspend
;;
resume)
cardctl resume
;;
esac
Then run this command (as su):
ln -s /etc/apm.d/wlan0 /etc/apm.d/suspend.d/S20wlan0
That works for me with the Planex on my C1000.

Double and triplecheck your settings. I had the same problem after I upgraded to Cacko (was working fine on the Sharp rom) and thought something was wrong. Eventually I realized I had the capitalization wrong on the SSID. Doh! Don't forget it is case sensitive.
Also, using the SSID ANY option in the network settings didn't work for me on the sharp ROM, but specifying the SSID name as "any" did. I haven't needed to do that yet on Cacko so I don't know if it's still the same, but probably is.
Also as other have suggested, unplug and replug your card after the zaurus is on.

Hi,
> in /etc/pcmcia/network.opts

>Change CARDSUSPEND=y to CARDSUSPEND=n
I have been p**sing around trying to solve this one for several months now on my C3100 and getting more and more frustrated...
Thanks for such a simple solution which works perfectly!!
