Hello all,
I have downloaded the Pdaxrom beta 4 files, and followed the steps to install.
1. I have erased the NAND Flash via the extras menu
2. I have formatted several SD and CF cards with FAT and I have copied the bootloader and Pdaxrom files to them.
3. I have started my C3100 with one card in, without battery, holding C+D I plug the power plug in
and...
4. the power and HDD leds blink ( both of them) and nothing happens.
I have tried this with a
- Lexar SD card
- Kingston SD card and
- Sandisk CF card
( I always had only one card in the unit).
Always the same result: the bootloader is not flashing, both LED's blink...
Any ideas what else I could try ( I know, I could reflash the sharp / cacko rom, but I would really prefer to try Pdaxrom Beta 4...)?
Thanks for your help...
Miklos

is it possible that you formatted the cards with fat32 instead of fat16?
Edit: btw. I am using also a Kingston 512MB SD card

I think I have found the reason. I took the updated uboot.bin file from Sash's website, and since it saved on my laptop as uboot.bin I copied that file directly to my various memory cards.
Now I realized, that that file is actually compressed. So I renamed it from uboot.bin to uboot.bin.bz2, extracted it with winrar and now I have (hopefully) the correct uboot.bin file.
I will try tonight at home how that works - and will post here the results...

I used FAT in Windows - and not FAT32 ( I assume FAT is FAT16, right?) but I think I have found the problem. See my other post in this thread.
Still: thanks for the reply...

Yes that would be the problem... the file is called (as you already said) uboot.bin.bz2
Now it should work (btw. your avatar suits this thread ... scnr)

It works - I have not Beta 4 running on my C3100. Fantastic!
Now I only have to figure out, how to have my HDD recognized ( partition 1 is recognized as CF, all the other partitions and the swap partition are invisible...)
