Title: Gpe Calendar And Contacts Stored In ~/.gpe?
Post by: Antikx on May 22, 2006, 08:49:50 pm
I've been using and enjoying the PIM apps in OZ/GPE but I want to know the correct way to backup the data.
I know that gpe-PIM apps are being ported to pdaXrom by Xromer and friends and from my recolection the PIM apps under pdaXrom use SQL Lite to store the info. Under OZ/GPE is looks like it stores the data in a file under ~/.gpe
So... does backing up by copying the files in ~/.gpe work?

I'd like to know how to export the contacts data from GPE. I mean I'd like to use the GPE contacts etc. because it looks quite good and seems much faster then KAPI. But while I can import contacts, how will I be able to export them later, if I need to switch to another contact manager?

I  thought I would post thay I was able to restore my contacts/calendar entries by over writing my ~/.goe folder with my backup.

And on a side note... ShiroiKuma I share your concern and would like to know the answer too,

I think you may try and use multisync + gpesyncd (I think) to try and get a copy of all contacts on another machine in whatever format supported by multisync plugins you like best.

My 2 cents
