I was looking at getting a Lacie Skwarim (?) 60gb 1.8" USB drive - has anyone tried it with a C3100 ? Will it work (at all) ?
-
I've had all of my USB hard drives work with my C3100, so this one probably will too. Is it known to work on regular linux? If not, then don't be hopeful about it working on the Z, otherwise it should be fine.
YMMV, etc.

Oh well, got the Skwarim - doesn't work with the C3100 - funny thing is the light comes on, on the drive, but nothing in the syslog on the C3100 -- like it hasn't seen it at all :-(

Yes can be isssue ... I have Samsung mp3 player YH-J70GS 20 GB. I can see it as USB mass storrage device only if I will use active USB HUB. Without it lsusb shows nothing.

Wow... that sucks that Samsung wouldnt provide usb power current from there internal battery for there devices.... I was actually looking to buy a nice mp3 player with a nice sized drive and store Data and Music on it... but now that I know that some don't work solely from battery via usb... I'm a little bit more hesitant...

Okay, done some googleing, but unable to find what I am after. Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a dual power (mains/battery) active USB hub ?
