Title: Doom, Heretic And Quake
Post by: adf on May 23, 2006, 03:59:35 pm
All 3 give me an error that goes  W_GetNumForName:

doom demo gives W_GetNumForName: Pnames not found

heretic gives W_GetNumForName: FONTA_S not found

Quake gives /home/QtPalmtop/bin/quake: line 28: 1188 Bus error    $QBIN $QOPTS

ok all 3 aren't the same.  Still, I'd appreciate some pointers on getting these things working.

My current setup is sharprom/tetsu kernel/pdaxqtrom libsdl 1.2.5 stuff as specified on meanie's page.

My 4 gig sd has 2 partitions the 1st ids slightlky less than 1 gig, and has programs, including these games and wads on it

thnx

I had issues getting heretic working at first.   The problem was that I was using the wrong SDL.   Apparently not all 1.2.5's were created equal.   If you have the Tetsu kernel, and a C1000 or C3x00, then you may be able to use the 1.2.5-bvdd version of SDL, that one works for me.

Thanks.  Thre bvdd version is probably an improvement.

Unfortunately I get the same erros (though a little more quickly, it appears)
