Hello,
suddenly, the built-in backup application under Settings is not able to create a backup on the SD card anymore!
As soon as I choose "SD card", it says "Cannot make backup file!".
I have successfully created backups on this card already (a PNY 2GB SD card with ext2 FS).
On the HDD the error message does not appear. But once I started the backup and QTopia has been quit, I get "Backup failed", on OK it returns to QTopia.
Anyone have an idea what the problem could be?
There is enough room on the card (600MB free) and the file system is intact. The Backup_Files directory is there and there are already two backup files in it.
Recently I have installed pdaXQTrom and the automounter-c3000 package, both of which seem to work fine otherwise. Can one of those be the reason?
Is there a way to get some more info about what went wrong (logging of backup app.)?
Thanks!

okay!
under what rom are you using to back up. Did you try backing up to a compact flash? I know your internal backs up fine. Is it just sd that isnt working?

Cacko 1.23 ROM on an SL-C3100.
If I select Media: "CF card" it does not yield that error message "cannot make backup file", which I get when selecting "SD card". I cannot try if the backup itself works currently, because the Z is busy backing up to USB drive now via tar. THat can take a few hours to come.
So it only seems to be the SD card which makes prolems.

I get the same message occasionally, "Cannot make backup file"
This usually occurs after I have been using my Bluetooth dongle and PAN
Or after I have used the CF slot for GPS or a modem.
(I'm not really sure what exactly causes this).
I uninstalled the older version of pdaXQTrom quite a while ago.
Rebooting my C3100 usually takes care of this problem.
I always backup in Cacko Lite using a 1GB CF card.
