Hi There
I'm liking OZ/GPE on my C1000, it seems very clean. I know GPE is X11 based.
Does that mean it's possible to compile OpenOffice to run on OZ/GPE?

Sure, but we'd rather fix the abiword OOo plugin so you can use abiword and gnumeric to edit the documents and imposter to view .sxi files.

That gives me two questions:
1) Why? Why not get OOo to work? The new version is pretty cool.
2) When? When will the OOo plugin's get incorporated into the GPE installed abiword and gnumeric?
Thanks though for the answer, good to know :-)

But if you fancy creating a .bb file for OpenOffice, it will be gladly accepted.

After applying 70MB of patches and an hour (on a dual opteron!!) of crunching through the various configure steps: "OOO doesn't support crosscompiling"
I'll try using a native toolchain when I have some time. FWIW, the initial arm port for OOo was done by emdebian and gpe hackers and ran in the OE image for the netbook pro

It sounds very difficult to do :-(
This is why doing stuff on linux scares me a little, I never know how to start and anything useful is beyond my skill.
