I'm trying to do a NAND flash restore on my 3200 and no matter what I do I get the following message:
"file:SYSTC3200.DBK
not exist file"
I'm attempting to restore the 3200 English DBK from the Conics site, which is named "SYSTC320.DBK". I've tried renaming the file (to "..3200..") and as-is. Same error message. I've put it in the root of the (freshly FAT formatted) 256MB CF, and also tried it in directories on the CF: /Backup_Files, and in /Documents/Backup_Files. Same error message.
I made my own NAND backup to see what and where the file went, and it was in the root of the CF and named "SYSTC320.DBK", just like the Conics file (but not like the 3200 restore screen).
What am I doing wrong????
PS I've posted in the last few days that my touch screen stopped responding (stock Sharp ROM) after I had a failed install of Kino. I successfully restored an image from Cresho via the GUI Backup/Restore app, but it doesn't fix the touch screen problem, so I'm guessing the problem is "deep" in the NAND? If anyone can give me clues how to fix this an other way I'd appreciate that, too :-)
TIA

it is a flash card, not a microdrive (I've had problems doing this with a microdrive)?
It is formatted FAT 16, NOT Fat32?
You didn't use windows to get or move the file? If so, check that windows didn't give you a hidden extension.
If all of these are ok, then maybe your Z doesn't like your cf card?

Adf - thanks for the attention - here we go:
- It is a genuine CF card, not micro-drive. I've used the card successfully in the 3200 to move files back and forth (a lot). Also used in my 5000d for a long time.
- formatted FAT, not FAT32
- I did use windows, but checked that the file name is correct.
I kinda jumped over this problem for the time being as Cacko for the 3200 was released TODAY and I've installed it and everything is working 100%. I'll still need to solve this problem for the future, tho'
Thanks

download conics nandrestore jap version. install the backup restore i posted.
could be as simple as that or better yet, a corrupted download. place the dbk in cf and not in any of the folder directories. make sure you have the 3200 version.

Mark,
your problem is not really new, it looks like it's the CF card.
The Zauri (yes, all C-Models) are very picky if it comes to
NAND restore operations. Even CF cards that work fine under
QTopia may be refused by the Zaurus for a NAND restore.
Simple solution: Try another card and it will work just fine

Thanks for the hint. I've seen a lot in the past about Zaurii sensitivities to CF (and SD) cards, just thought I had ones they liked! I'll try another!

maybe you would like to try copy both SYSTC3200.DBK and SYSTC320.DBK to your CF and try to do NAND again.
I got the same problem and this is what I did
it works for me
look like c3200 check filename with "SYSTC3200.DBK"
but restore "SYSTC320.DBK" back to rom

Thanks, I will try that. I thought about it, but couldn't do it with my 256MB card. Oh well, just the excuse I need to buy something bigger
