Title: QCOP messages (KOrganizer/PI in particular)
Post by: jh on February 25, 2004, 02:36:41 pm
Is there an easy way to find what messages can be sent to an application?  In particular, I\'d like to automate importing a vcalendar file into Ko/Pi (1.6.1a) via the command line.

Is it a matter of going through the code?  Or is there a way to get a list of supported messages from an app?

Thanks,

jason

jh,

I found this tool in the process of trying to do something similar to what you want to:

http://www2.gol.com/users/ikezawa/zaurus/qcoptest.html (http://www2.gol.com/users/ikezawa/zaurus/qcoptest.html)

This lets you monitor the qcop channels System, Taskbar, Network, Card, and Sync, and log their events to a file.  You can also specify a \"user channel\" that would let you monitor the messages sent to an application of your choice. . . Personally, I haven\'t had much luck getting it to work- I\'m trying to figure out qcop messages for the PIM apps.

If you figure out how to get this to work, or another clever way to find qcop messages for a particular app, by all means let me know.
