Title: Enlightenment (e17) Status & Help
Post by: grog on June 07, 2006, 07:49:44 pm
Hi all. I'm really interested in trying the e-image out on my boxer (C860), but there's a few stumbling blocks, like a working image  .

The 3.5.4 image gets me to a login prompt, I'm able to login, but then it kicks me off after a few minutes. If I leave it at the login prompt for a while, I notice that it keeps on 'resetting', or re-displaying the prompt every few minutes. Never mind I couldn't figure out how to start the x server (there was no startx command).

The 3.5.4.1.rc4 image is just the core, no apps included, so while it's really _nice_ and _inviting_ (at least after you manually create the /home/root directory, that is), it doesn't really do much .

So, if anybody's got some tips to get 3.5.4 working, or even better, know when the full 3.5.4.1.rc4 image might be available, fire away!!!

thks

I spoke too soon regarding the 3.5.4.1.rc4 image. It does the same as the 3.5.4 one after reboot; just sits at the text login prompt, cycling every few minutes.

I am also having this problem on my Akita. But on my Collie, it does that once or twice right after a new flash, but after that, it runs ok. On my Akita, it ran ok for awhile, then I keep getting dumped out to login screen.

I've seen this issue too.

I'm pretty busy atm, but will see if I can track it down. If anyone else is interested in having a go, please do so.

It looks like there are possibly two issues, entranced is crashing, and something is also crashing the terminal login.

Suggestions on a postcard
