Hi, I made some current measurements with an ampmeter trying to find the most efficient light setting.
These are made with a SL-C1000 running cacko 1.23. from the battery with the wiring shown it the attached picture.
level 1: 200 mA
level 2: 205 mA
level 3: 215 mA
level 4: 230 mA
level 5: 270 mA
level 6: 315 mA
While boting cacko, it consumes around 320 mA.
These are average measurements during one minute without doing anything with the zaurus.
I decided to leave the setting at level 3 for battery use, as the current diference isn't too big.
I'll try to make some measurements with the powernowd utility that Albertr has released.

cool, cant wait to see if it really helps...

You are great!!! PLz can you test CF card also!! Bluetooth?Wifi? SD??
Thnx alot

level 1: 200 mA
Nice that confirms some other measurements I'm currently running ! (Not measuring consumption but battery life so, at most I can run only one test in a day...)

The next measurement i'll try, will be playing mp3 files with kino and lcd off, and cpu at 143 Mhz.
Cheers,
Ludovic.

dproldan,
If you can post your findings with powernowd running, that would be great! What /etc/powernowd.conf file are you using?

Awesome ! 14 hours and still playing MP3 (@ 143Mhz) ! Didn't know the Zaurus was a so good mp3 player. I think it will last 20 hours. After that, I'll try powernowd...
Cheers,
Ludovic.

actually that makes sense. As you and others have proven, the biggest normal power drain is the display and the zaurus battery is heavier (and more powerful?) than many mp3 players. Turn off the display and the drain becomes a trickle.

Test finished : 24 hours of MP3 playback ! Better than any IPOD
My latest benchs: http://ldrolez.free.fr/software/zaurus/ (http://ldrolez.free.fr/software/zaurus/)
I think that it could be better since reading Intel's 28000205.pdf we can find recomended voltages (I used 143Mhz 1.25v):
@104/104/104/104 Mhz= 0.9 V
@156/104/104/104 Mhz= 1.0 V
@208/208/208/104 Mhz= 1.18V
@312/208 = 1.25V
@312/104 = 1.1V
@416/208 = 1.35V
@520/208 = 1.45V
@624/208 = 1.55V
Can you fix the 'Combined battery plugin' Mikhail ?
Cheers,
Ludo.

Voltages can play a huge role in power consumtion, i remeber back in my old Dell x30 days where i would leave the processor at 1.6V or whatever was the highest by accident
