I\'ve had my 5500 for over a year and I love it.  Qtopia Desktop for OS X was promising, but lately I just use Sharp ROM 3.13 and Korganizer/PI and iCal.  Since I don\'t need to add to my address book, I just synch them with my Palm (good for something, eh?).

I had a 5500 for a year and a half and now have an SL-C860. Won\'t go back! \"Using\" with the Mac is limited so far. I have a cross-compiler set up on OSX for the zaurus and I tweaked one qtopia app to change screen sizing, but I\'m not a qt developer. I am doing some java development for the zaurus using Netbeans on the Mac but as for synching, I don\'t at home - only at work with Win2k.

I use a card reader on the IMac to transfer files - simple and easy for me.

I\'m surprised you didn\'t include the SL-A300 on this list. The A300 is one of the smallest, lightest weight PDAs available and it runs Linux to boot! You can pick these up in Tokyo for about $140 US these days.

Oh really? It was not included in the Fora List or HowTos on Models&ROMs here on ZUG...
If someone in the Mac community uses one - please say hello!

Do we have just 10 Mac owners (10 answers within 1 week) within the 2149 subscribers?
Apples hopefully rising market share of more than 2-3% would let me expect at least 43 users...

I love my SL-C760, but wish there was a way to use it with iSync :-)

Right now my Mac and Zaurus don\'t really \"talk\" much. I\'m about to try importing my Address Book over using the command line utility posted elsewhere in this forum.

OS X 15\" PowerBook Ai and Zaurus PDA all the way! My 1gig CF makes the Zaurus a pretty good \"iPod\" as well ;-)

You really should try OS X out. It\'s *nix all the way (BSD). A warning though, the GUI is so advanced (and beautiful) that it is quite addictive. After a few days of using OS X, it\'s quite hard to look at anything else.

I have the opposite reaction, a few days of using OS X drives me around the bend and wishing hard for an environment where MouseFocus, seamless X forwarding (having some Aqua apps you cant remote with X is annoying) from machine to machine, very fast response times and a desktop that\'s basicly a holding place for aterms is possible

All that eye candy may look nice, but it kills my productivity. Still, I\'d rather use a Mac than a Windows box - I\'d even consider buying a G5 or IBM PPC970 system to run Linux on the hardware is so nice.

What, on a forum for Linux embedded devices? Mac users? ;o)

Maybe the ones who have migrated from other UNIX systems, but the general Mac userbase has more of a reputation for being interested in Shiny Things, and Sharp\'s half assed advertising of the Zaurus never made it publicly known as The Most Shiny Thing Of All.

Completely agree... And should we coin a new acronym and post to MacRumors: TMSTOA?

Ello everyone!

After my Visor Deluxe died, I\'ve been looking around for a new PDA, and think I\'m about to get a SL-5500 unless something catastrophic happens. Looks to be an awesome community, and can\'t wait to join it in earnest! Hopefully before too many more days I\'ll be able to add my vote to this poll.

Using a brand spanking new (to me) 5500. Card reader lets me transfer files to my Mac, and the qtopia USB sync seems to work, but better integration with the standard Mac applications is needed before we can get any momentum from the \"shiny\" obsesed.

Personally, I\'m a proud Zaurus owner, and I convert anyone I can.

Devoted Mac user, just got a 5600 yesterday. I haven\'t bought a wireless card yet, but so far have been able to communicate between Mac and Zaurus using Terminal over USB.

Hi,

Been using Macs since \'86!

Sometimes use PC too but Macs have been my primary computer since \'86.

In the past 2 years have dabbled a bit with Linux which in turn got me interested enough to buy a C760 last summer.

Recently got a C860.

Have easily shared files with Mac/OSX using Go>Connect to Server. Think I had to install some free OSX software to do this.

Wish there was full OSX<->Zaurus sync capability for C7/8xx series.

Anyway, think the Z\'s are great!

Sorry,
I didn\'t think about the A-300 when formulating the Poll. And it can\'t be edited after launch.

So for the records: we have at least two additional A-300 users.

I\'ve been using/administering *nix (BSD, BSDi, Solaris, RH) for about 7 years now. I recently, well about 6 months ago got a 17\" Powerbook and I tell you, OS X kicks ass. It\'s basically pure BSD on the backend with a lovely UI. It\'s a fine OS. Sure it\'s pretty but behind it all it\'s got the grunt you need.

My brand new SL-5600 comes in the mail on Tuesday. Can\'t wait.
