I just recieved today (from a user on this forum) a c760 that I was planning to use for developement/testing but I'm having a few problems:
The device did turn on (and was running cacko 1.22 or 1.23) but when I followed the procedure (ok+on) to flash xpdarom I noticed that the power led did not light when I inserted the wall charger.
I attempted anyway the procedure but it did not boot into the flash menu.
I then attempted a normal boot but that failed too.
Next I tried the service menu procedure (D+M)but that failed too.
So I then tried to see if I could get the power led to light with a sync/charge cable but still no luck.
I also tried with a fully charged battery from my c860 but still no luck.
Anyone have any ideas ?
Regards
David

I found somewhere on this forum a description that got my Z to go into service menu (all other descriptions failed on my device):
Take out the batery and leave it out,
Take at least a 5 second pause,
Press and keep holding D and M keys on keypoard,
Push in the power chord while pressing the keys,
Let the keys go and wait a few seconds the service menu should come up shortly,
Put the battery back in close cover and lock.
I then attempted to restor original nand flash backup that can be downloaded from
http://trisoft.de/en_slc760.htm (http://trisoft.de/en_slc760.htm)
But after having nand flash restored the device it still fails to boot.
I restarted the service menu to do a flash cksum only to finf out that :
ROFLSYS is in state NG
PRESET is in state NG
Anyone have any ideas how to fix this ?

I've managed to get it partially working by installing u-boot loader by following this procedure:
http://mail.pdaxrom.org/node/102 (http://mail.pdaxrom.org/node/102)
Just incase it gets lost or broken links ... etc
here are the most importat steps:
First installation - new bootloader
1) Good idea make NAND backup before
2) Format CF or SD card (MMC unworking for me) with FAT16
3) Extract bootloader and emergency files to card. There must be updater.pro, u-boot.bin, emergenc.img
4) Extract rootfs and kernel files to this or another CF or SD card, there must be: rootfs.img kernel.img autoboot.sh
5) Run diagnostic menu (D+M) and run NAND Flash Erase from Extra Menu.
6) Turn OFF your zaurus. Unplug power adapter, eject battery.
7) Insert SD or CF card with extarcted files (if you insert both CF and SD, updating fails)
8) Press and hold "C" and "D" keys and plug power adapter (battery must be ejected!).
9) Green LED must light on for ~20 sec.
10) If both LEDs flashing, that mean bad CF or SD, or non FAT16.
11) When Green LED off, unplug power adaptor.
Bootup emergency system
1) Insert SD or CF card with pdaXrom
2) Press and hold OK button and plug power cable
3) Wait for 10 sec and leave OK button
4) Screen on and emergency system will booting
5) After booting, it will detect SD or CF card and run autoboot.sh script
7) After flashing, it will reboot and pdaXrom will booting - time for battery insert:)

Ok the u-boot loader got me booting again but the pdaxrom beta 4 is broken on the cxxx devices, can I use u-boot with a version that is not broken on the cxxx ?
I found another odd thing: the beta4 emergenzy image suspends/resumes correctly.

A couple of people is asking for using u-boot to boot other ROMs on the pdaXrom forum. But it seems there are a lot of things to do.
In your case, I think there are some broken blocks in your Z's internal flash. This will prevent a NAND backup from being restored correctly.
I heard that doing a Full NAND Falsh Erase (Extra Menu->Zaurus Test->Full NAND Falsh Erase) will mark bad blocks. I don't know if the NAND Backup will be restored correctly after that.

Hopefully that "ROFLsys" is a typo. Otherwise your machine might be making funny at you (G).
