Title: Cf And Sd Size Limits On An Sl-c860?
Post by: variable on July 01, 2006, 06:08:38 pm
So I'm in the market fora much larger CF card as well as an SD card.  Since I have a wiFi CF card I'm thinking about getting a 1 or 2GB SD card, but I am concerned as all the compatibility lists I have seen do not include SD cards above 256 except this one right here:

http://www.toshiba.co.jp/p-media/english/compati/sd_list.htm (http://www.toshiba.co.jp/p-media/english/compati/sd_list.htm)

I've also seen a lot of people talking on these forums about the cards they use, but never someone who I know is using an 860 with Cacko.

So what's the biggest SD or CF card you've used?  Any recommendations for me?  Anyone know of a thread I wasn't able to turn up with search that might help?  Primarily my zaurus is just a mobile typerwriter and email station, but I'd really like to carry around movies as it's f@%$%#%$ing hard to type on the bus.

As far as I know CF cards have no limit. For SD cards with the standard configuration, there is a limit of 1GB. I am using a 1GB SD card on my C860 Sharp ROM right now, the brand is PNY but I don't think it matters. It seems that the latest model, the C3200, came with a driver that allows for larger SD cards and it has been backported to at least some of the other models, I'm not sure which. Search the forums and you'll find discussion and probably a link to the driver.
