Ok. I love the X11 ROM. I love to be able to remote display apps from
my desktop to the Z. Matchbox is ok after I figured out how to get the
ice icons. (Default is UGLY IMHO). Got most other stuff running. I need
to redo the xscreensaver stuff...
Anyway.
My biggest problem with the X11 ROM is that I can\'t find simple PIM apps
that run on it. Is it just me????
Address Book
Calendar
Calculator (xcalc is ok for now)
I\'ve tried to build a few with no success. Anyone else have any luck with these
basic apps?
Thanks!

I\'m currently working on a tcl/tk based Calendar. There are tcl/tk adress books and calculators around.

Great!!! I\'ll look at them too and see if I can get them running. Thanks!

Hi!
has anybody tried KO/Pi (the port of Korganizer for embedded system) on the pdaX Rom?
I am using this on Cacko\'s QT Rom and it is working great! It could be the solution to all our PIM problems!
Does anybody know what QT version is supported in the pdaX Rom? Is it 3.2 or still 3.1.2 like in the latest cacko\'s rom?
Thanks!

KoPi is using 2.3 embedded. I\'m looking at working on it. But lot\'s of people seem to be. I might have a go tonight, but I have a feeling I will have to compile the qt libraries as well (should be easy enough anyway). I\'ve built a solaris sparc cross compiler and as such it doesn\'t always go smoothly when compiling for linux :-).

I\'m just hoping that the zaurus clock issue is fixed with the rom soon, otherwise such tools aren\'t that much use, especially alarms :-)

Just let us know how it goes!

The old Agenda VR3 PDA is X11 based, and had some simple PIM applications already built. Perhaps we can port those to this system, until suitable replacements can be found?
Try http://www.agendawiki.com (http://www.agendawiki.com) or http://www.agendawiki.com/cgi-bin/asr.pl (http://www.agendawiki.com/cgi-bin/asr.pl) for their software repository. Their stuff is simple, but be nice -- their PDA costs $130 and has 16 MB RAM and 16 MB flash.

I ran into the same problem after installing the Cacko pdaxrom. There was no PIM functionality left in the Zaurus C860. What is the best way to go about this? The following questions:
1. Is it possible to install the Qtopis desktop on the X11 ROM? If so where does one get the feed?
2. Can I still use the \'add/remove program\' functionality with the X11 ROM or do I necessarily have to compile all applications from scratch?
Thanks,
Ashu

I am currently porting j-pilot with all of the sync capabilities (hopefully). This will allow the Z to have a full Palm Desktop style application and allow users to sync their Palm Pilots via the IR port. The idea for this is that I have found many users still using their Palm Pilots and the Z\'s together.
There are also others that I am working on, but I am waiting for the JavaVM\'s to be tested fully (Some are java based).
As well, I have ported over Python and should have 2 PyQT based PIMs ready soon.

The blackdown java VM worked fine on the previous Cacko X11 ROM. Maybe that\'ll work on the pdaxrom as well.

java + python/pyqt will give a lot. :-]
/me waits for pyqt.

Isn\'t pyqt already ported to the Zaurus?
What about this:
http://www.riverbankcomputing.co.uk/ (http://www.riverbankcomputing.co.uk/)
There is also a great software on this page: it is called \'treeline\' and is even better than hnb.
It would be great if somebody could port treeline to the Zaurus. I contacted the author, but he got not Z...

Has anyone made progress on the PIM front?
Whether Ko/Pi or even compiling the Opie apps for X11 use? Are the Qt libs available in the ROM by default or do I need to add them?
