talking to myself now...

The point is that using 1.1.0 with stuff from beta1, 3 , and contrib and a tetsu kernel would make a "static" stable pdax setup for my zauruses (dev environment and all) using a kernel that is still being tweaked, and currently performs quite well (under sharprom it seems to do better with media playback than does the beta1 kernel on my 3100--though there are a lot of variables). I'd view it as a sort of frozen X based rom with kernel enhancements. kinda like a gtk cacko.

guess I'll give 18h a whirl on my 3100--I can always flash if it makes a mess.

adf, did it improve anything for you?
I just downloaded it, but there seems to be no documentation as to what improvements are made to the kernel.
I'm using Cacko, which uses v18b, (I think).

I fetched these 3 files from the untranslated page.
http://tetsu.homelinux.org/zaurus/kernel/index.html (http://tetsu.homelinux.org/zaurus/kernel/index.html)

kernel-modules_v18h_arm.ipk
updater.sh.c3100
zImage-v18h-C3100.bin

If you try to download from that page after it has been translated to English, the downloads fail.

I tried tetsu in cacko.... the cacko kernel already works so well with the rom that it isn"t really necessary.

So far, I can confirm that thse updater doesn"t do well with pdaxrom.  The next tst will be either replacing the pdaxrom kernel in the installation tarball with the tetsu kernel and flashing ; or compiling from tetsus source and doing the same thing.  that might be a whi,e.

Dear adf,

the kernel itself would work but then the pdaxrom kernel uses soft float,
whereas tetsu's uses hard float so it won't work.

Felix.

I feared as much.
At the moment I'm using gpe, seems ok so far
