Title: Synchronization With Google Calendar
Post by: rafm on July 26, 2006, 02:59:35 am
Something that would be a killer app for me:

An application that would synchronize the standard calendar application with Google Calendar. Both the calendar application and Google Calendar have their APIs, so it should be feasible.

Anyone would be interested in investing a few days in programming such a thing? A small donation (or larger if there are more people interested) is possible.

GPE-calendar can already do this.

Even I would love to see such an application which can synchronise both KDE PIM (Calendar) and Google calendar (considering that for online calendars, GCal must be the most pervasively used calendar).

Hi, it is possible to synchronise GG Cal -> Ko/Pi with the iCal export function of GG Cal, but not from Ko/Pi to GG Cal via the ical format.
There is hope, a thunderbird extension is able to access to the GG Calendar in right mode via the XML export : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/4631 (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/4631)

Is there a possibility to do this with Ko/Pi ?

Well, I figured out that I can export the calendar from ko/pi and then import it into sunbird (which has that extension you mentioned which then sincs to google calander)....So I guess this works.  But I noticed a problem.  some of my events are an hour off for some reason.

EDIT:  ok, *MOST* of them are an hour off.  Eh, guess it doesn't work then.
