Title: Wlan-card: How To Activate?
Post by: mrehberg on July 30, 2006, 04:09:21 am
Hello!

I've installed OPIE on my Simpad SL4. After inserting the wlan-card nothing happens. How can i activate/configure the card for using it for wlan-connections?

Hello,
which card do you have?
Isn't even the LED blinking short?
On shell type cardctl info while the card is inserted.
Then do a lsmod.
If you want, you can also make a dmesg.
Better to do all the stuff over a serial console connection * so you don't have to retype everything here.

*
+ Connect your SIMpad over the serialcable to your PC
+ as root on PC type minicom -s change the Serial Port Setup to 115200 8N1 no Hardware and no Software Flow Control. also change the  Serial Device entry (/dev/ttyS0 should do it on most PCs )
+ Then Exit
+ You shuld now have a serial connection to your SIMpad.
+ Restart the Pad if neccessary.
