should appear as a usb modem for those of you running a 2.6 kernel with udev

otherwise you will need to dial over the device /dev/ttyUSB0. how you do that and establish a ppp connection is left to the reader  you may need to load a module or two but you can have a look under /lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/drivers/usb (note the backticks, these mean it will work regardless of the kernel you have installed)

that would be in a terminal, but give me a sec and i will look on my pc as to which module you should load

ok on the command line/terminal type "modprobe usbserial"

if  you dont have the terminal installed (i am sure cacko shipped with one) then there should be an ipkg on the CD you can install

i hope your laptop isnt a windows machine or else it will  get harder from here on

next we need to know which mobile phone company you are with, this is the case if the networking panel dosent allow you to make a "dial up" connection, it may allow you to but we also might have to give it some more infomation
