Ok... this will only apply to Beta3 and below installs I would suggest to use the default for the first install and see if you like the default wm... When you start adding a different Window Managers and installing larger apps is when resizing the root space will be needed...

Ok... This is Beta4... 2.6 kernel, new bootloader, FBpanel default
There are a few un-100% worked out bugs in this version... I could go into more detail but I will refrain for now...
I would suggest beta3 for your first use... For the reason that you will need to change your boot loader making it a little bit harder to change roms or reflash back to diff version of pdaxrom
Use this link below for tips on customization and little fixes...

One thing you should do is create a NAND backup before doing anything... Steps can be found in the Wiki... if I have time I will locate it and post it here...
Any questions you have dont refrain from asking... we are here to help... Congrats on your purchase...

I'd suggest installing beta 3 to try out pdaXrom to begin with. it's much more stable then beta 4, and easier to work with.
beta3 install files -> http://mail.pdaxrom.org/node/42 (http://mail.pdaxrom.org/node/42)
Install tutorial -> https://www.oesf.org/index.php?title=Installing_pdaXrom (https://www.oesf.org/index.php?title=Installing_pdaXrom)
** to answer your original question - I suggest making your root partition slightly larger as I found the system likes the extra overhead

THANKS, also the beta3 has the kernel 2.6 ?
The SD card will' be used from the installation process ? Some package will be installed on the SD ? Or i use it for the other package that i will install ?
Swap is needed?
THANKS

beta 3 is using the 2.4 kernel
Installing different windows managers is not too painful but I've only done one so far (that one being window maker). icewm didn't seem to work for me. Once installed and running startx initiated the gui but then dropped back with a message saying waiting for window shutdown and then getting back to the console. WindowMaker seems ok and like the standard desktop systems but a little dated for my liking.

Finally is arrived!
I have installed the pdaxrom beta 3 ..... graphically is beautiful, but i have some problem:
1. When Z startup the lines on the screen has not displaied, like my linux PC do, but the new line overwrite the previous line. if i lunch a dmesg, i see only the last line, not all lines.
2. When i close X, the Z freeze...i not have a prompt.
3. My WIFI card not work, when i insert it , the applet(CF/SD Monitor) see it like: ZCOMAX X!-325H 200mW
