So, I guess this site works afterall.

lj, you mentioned the possibility of your office space.  Are you in mid-town?  I actually liked the pub idea.  What\'s a good hangout?

I\'m game.  Just say where and when.  I work in mid-town.  This might seem lame, but I do not own a Zaurus, yet.  I\'m in the market.

JP_Lewis, want to get one for cheap? I have a 5000D that I need to sell before I can get a C750/760 (wife said one must go before a new one comes). I can let it go for $100 + shipping. It\'s in good condition with ROM 3.1 loaded.

I would have bought a 5600 in a hot second if it wasn\'t for the PXA250.  I am holding out until the 56xx has the PXA255 or the wife is \"ok\" with the idea of me getting a 760.

Count me in... I work in hell (aka NJ) so I will make it when/if I can (and when my shorter half doesnt have anything on her \"Honey-Do\" list for me ...<G>)

Would it make sense to try and meet somewhere that has a public AP?

I tried posting this once using the Quick Reply option but I don\'t seem to see the message. Apologies if I end up double posting.

I would like to come to a meeting. I live in CT and would be coming to the City by train (into Grand Central).

Isn\'t there a park somewhere in NYC that has free community wireless access? Maybe there\'s some sort of cafe/pub in that immediate area. Sunday afternoon would be a good time for me, but I understand if that\'s not convenient to others. I\'ll try to make it where and when you all decide to have it, but I don\'t know the City all that well.

Hope to see you all soon

P.S. I\'m \"of age\" .

Hi all,

I just recently purchased a SL-C700  IMO it\'s so much nicer than the 5500, which I had and sold last year.

anyways, I\'m up for any meets we have. Unfortunately I dont know of any public wireless AP\'s.. maybe someone should do some wardriving to scout for a nice place for a meet

That was me! I forgot to sign in.

anyways, I found a website called http://nycwireless.net/ (http://nycwireless.net/)

we can search for a place in the city that has a free access point to meet

not sure what looks good for everybody, so let\'s start getting some ideas as to when folks are around. also, let\'s start thinking about agendas as well, it might be fun to actually acheive something other than comradery with our group.

i am generally available afterwork or on weekends, any part of town is good for me.

a good number of the cities parks are \"wired\" so, on any day/night when the weather permits these could be ideal but, no booze   =  (

http://nycwireless.net (http://nycwireless.net) is a group that i\'m just getting involved in and very excited and would certainly recommend others take a look @. they have monthly meetings.

got 2600?

Sounds good!
I just installed the Cacko/Crow rom and would love to compare notes.
I\'ve been to the nyc wireless meetings so maybe I\'ll see some familiar faces.
There is a good node down in the Village near Macdougal and Bleeker if anyone is interested.
Good drinking to be had in the area!
cheers.

I\'m flying into NYC on 6/22, and will be there thru 6/25 and would like to be able to join a ZUG meeting if one is scheduled.

When will you all be scheduling your first meeting?

How about this, let\'s meet on 6/23 around 6:30 PM at John\'s Pizza on 44th between 8th and Broadway.  They are in the middle of everything, and it’s pizza and beer.  They can handle a large crowd without the need to make any special arrangements.  How’s that sound?

Here’s a link about John’s.  http://www.cityguidemagazine.com/nycreview...nspizzeria.html (http://www.cityguidemagazine.com/nycreviews/johnspizzeria.html)

this date/time works for me (i think   ). a monday huh? perfect, i\'m sure i could use a few rounds.

this isn\'t too far from bryant park and there\'s wi-fi over there. unless we are going to try to find someplace to be online AND booze.

Ladyjane, how \'bout posting this as a new topic \"Meeting Set\" or something so that others will notice more easily?

are you guys more interested in post workday stuff or weekends?

the reason i ask is this, hopefully we can square away a regular day of the month to meet so that it\'s easier for everybody and we don\'t have to drop by here to find out when the next meeting is but, maybe just for \"where\". also, if we choose to hold meetings during the week we miss out on the input from other users in the \"surrounding area\".

thoughts r always welcome

we can kick it around next week too

You all are great... thanks for scheduling it for that week!  I\'m looking forward to meeting you all.

Also, I\'ve added a calendar entry for the meeting.

Good luck with the first meeting!
