Title: Unsupported Card Needs To Be Bound
Post by: BeKind on August 13, 2006, 10:37:47 pm
OZ 3.5.4 , collie

I just barely ran ipkg upgrade and now my network card that used to work is labeled as "unsupported" and when I 'configure' it, it says "Caution:  This card is not yet recognized.. valid binding," and no matter what driver I select from the drop down menu, the value always goes back to "none" the next time I go into the dialog, and the card remains "unsupported."

Having same problem as above: flashed Opie 3.5.4 image, made loop file on SD card, upgraded loop, now card is "unsupported". Card is a Netgear MA701 Wireless CF Card. It still runs fine under the un-upgraded flash image. The LED on the card is on.

When working, this card shows up as an Ambicom WL1100C, and uses the Prism2 driver (hostap, right?), which doesn't show up in the list of bindings which the configure dialog presents. I didn't notice anything interesting in dmesg.

Would be helpful to have a list of the packages which are upgraded (maybe will do this tomorrow...er, today).

If anyone can shed some light on this, I'd appreciate it.

Hi Ive had the same problim with my collie as well it seems to loose this card on upgrade It has happend with both a flash install and a loopfs intstall. I tryed editing //etc/pcmcia/hostap_cs.conf that didint work after it had ben updated the trick I have ben using is to through console do a ipkg update and then

ipkg upgrade "name of package to upgrade"

and dont do a ipkg upgrade by its self of from the gui as it upgrades them all

you wnat to not upgrade anything with hoastap in its name or byby wifi card untell you reflash

Hope this helps
